On December 16, U.S. Navy 6th Fleet divers trained Croatian counterparts at the Croatian Navy Base Lora in Split to develop our Croatian partners’ capability to clear underwater ordnance and protect lives.  The U.S. Government donated $280,000 in mine countermeasure and explosive ordnance disposal equipment to the Croatian Navy to fortify our defense partnership.  This initiative was funded by the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) Humanitarian Mine Action Program.

These kinds of focused training not only enhance the capabilities of our maritime forces but also strengthen our bond and effectiveness as NATO allies. This action is just one of the many examples of partnership between United States European Command, United States Navy, the Embassy, Croatian Government, and the Army.
