Sarah Groen, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, visited the Gornjogradska High School in Zagreb and delivered a lecture on “The Education in the U.S.” to a group of the American Studies program students on December 19. The students were interested in learning more about the U.S. schools. What subjects are mandatory at the high schools in the U.S.? What foreign languages do schools offer? Do students choose their subjects in the high school? What is the difference between the public and the private schools? English teacher Snjezana Liović and her students gave a tour of this 400 year old school to Ms. Groen.
